WWE Wrestler Retires!

It is here, at The Suplah, that we report with sadness that top WWE talent, Rosa Mendes, has decided to retire from pro wrestling.

Mendes started her, no doubt Hall of Fame worthy, career with WWE back in 2006, after participating in the WWE Diva Search. Whilst she ultimately didn’t win the contest (that honour went to Layla El), she won the hearts of the WWE Universe. She became the ultimate underdog in the Divas division, and started the movement for the women’s revolution.

She made her debut as Beth Phoenix’s number 1 fan, and used this angle to springboard herself into stardom by eventually being put into such memorable storylines as; being traded to ECW, managing Adam Rose for a few weeks, and accidentally showing her buttocks on SmackDown.

However, it was managing Primo and Epico to the WWE Tag Team Titles that fans will remember most, no doubt a turning point in the WWE Tag Division. where it went from being “meh”, to “Meh!”.

Whilst Rosa won only 10 matches in her lengthy WWE career, which saw her compete in 122 total contests, she proved that it wasn’t about wins and loses, but about making an impact. And she certainly did just that.

We interviewed a few people around the office, and here’s what they had to say about Rosa’s retirement.

She was still employed?
– Sam Brooks

Oh, I know her from “Total Divas”
– Carmine Antonelli

Who?
– Brendan Davis

Thank you Rosa, for the many years, matches and memories you left the WWE Universe with.
