Update on Seth Rollins’ Curb Stomp

Wrestlemania-31

WWE World Heavyweight Champion’s Finisher NOT Banned

In an update on the situation regarding the WWE World Heavyweight Champion’s finishing move, it has been reported that the move has not been banned, but will instead be used sparingly in the future as a special move.

Seth Rollins’ finisher has been seen frequently for a majority of this singles career, and occasionally in The Shield, before being known in NXT as the “Blackout”, or the “Peace of Mind”. The move has since been replaced as Rollins’ finisher by a modified single-underhook DDT, which was seen on Monday Night Raw in his match with Dolph Ziggler.

The idea is for the Curb Stomp to be used in a similar manner to Randy Orton’s RKO, wherein it is used anytime, on anyone, “from out of nowhere”.

Editor’s Note: I personally think that this notion does not hurt Rollins as much as everyone else would say. He has plenty of moves in his arsenal to use at any given moment, including the Phoenix Splash and the diving knee he used as a member of The Shield.

If anything, this gives Rollins more of an advantage in the ring. No one will expect the Curb Stomp, and when it does happen, it will elicit a pop for the rarely-seen move.
