The Suplah Bytesize: #GiveDivasAChance

By now, you’ve probably realised how much of a shambles the WWE “Divas Division” truly is; this past Monday on Raw, The Bella Twins competed in a match against Paige and Emma that lasted thirty seconds. Prior to this match, during Paige’s entrance, a video package for Sting aired. This video package lasted five minutes. In a three hour show, the women are given thirty seconds to wrestle, and are interrupted by a vignette for a 55 year old man who hasn’t been relevant for 15 years. Where is the sense? One could argue that Sting is a bigger draw than any Diva, but that’s the problem we have. These Divas aren’t given the opportunity to become big draws.

Back in the day, as an old man would say, the women’s division had names such as Trish Stratus, Lita, Victoria, Molly Holly, and company. Even before that, women had legacies that stretched for decades in Mae Young and The Fabulous Moolah. Women have since proven that they can hang with the boys, in the likes of Alundra Blayze and Chyna. Today, we have inductions into the Hall of Fame in these aforementioned names, most recently Stratus and Young. It’s proven that women can lead, and set in stone, a brilliant career as a women’s wrestler. Given the chance, I fully believe that Paige, Charlotte and Sasha Banks could be a new generation’s hope for a brighter division. And that’s where the #GiveDivasAChance movement comes in.

For all of the facts, take a look at the latest edition of The Suplah Bytesize, wherein Carmine and Andy talk about this movement, and what needs to be done in order to initiate change.
