Ricochet On His Way To WWE?
One of the most popular independent wrestlers, and former Lucha Underground Champion, Ricochet (known better as Prince Puma to the Underground fans), has recently been speculated to be starting with WWE in the coming months.
Promoters who have tried to book Ricochet have been told that he won’t be accepting any further bookings past June. Not to mention that he also dropped the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Championship to former champions Roppongi Vice, at Invasion Attack this past weekend.
Ricochet is currently busy working on Lucha Underground Season 3, which wraps in May. So far it seems that things are adding up in favour of the rumour, however one major fact seems to be debunking it. It is allegedly stated in Ricochet’s Lucha Underground contract that he will not be allowed to jump to WWE until after season 3 finishes airing, which is estimated to be in 2017 at some time.
It is also worth noting that Ricochet himself has stated that the rumour isn’t true, but this is the wrestling business, and those in charge love to try and throw fans off the scent of spoilers.
Whether he has figured a way around his no-compete clause and sign with WWE yet to be seen, but if WWE has somehow managed to acquire this spectacular talent, expect NXT to get more interesting!
