Why The Miz Beat Dolph Ziggler This Week

Did you watch RAW this past week? If you did, you may have noticed that The Miz beat Dolph Ziggler in less than 2 minutes. This seemed rather shocking, The Miz hasn’t really had a great deal of in ring time recently, unlike Ziggler. As well as that, The Miz hasn’t been marketed as a major star in the last few months (despite his gimmick). So it was quite strange to see this unfold, unless you missed it, after all, it was a rather short match so I wouldn’t be surprised if you did miss it.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that it isn’t because Ziggler is being punished, as some fans have been speculating. Instead it’s down to creative booking an angle between the two that will culminate at WrestleMania.

Meltzer believes this won’t be a program between just the two of them, but instead, will lead to a multi-man match. It’s currently unknown as to what kind of match we will see, such as a big tag team match or another ladder match for the Intercontinental Title.

On a personal note, it’s really weird to see the IWC in such doubt as to why The Miz went over Ziggler. Like I said before, Miz hasn’t been booked strongly recently, and I understand that. But he is far from a jobber. Let us not forget that he is a former WWE Champion, main evented WrestleMania 27 and the second of three men to ever pin John Cena in a WrestleMania main event.
