FORGOTTEN CLASSICS: Trish Stratus vs. Lita
It seems that, currently, the WWE is going through a “Diva’s Revolution”. Paige, Becky, Charlotte, The Bella’s, Alicia Fox and Team B.A.D. are the flag bearers of the women’s division at the E today. After years of neglect and 1 minute matches a week, it seems that people realised just how bad the division was being handled for years.
But there had been times before where it looked like the WWE really did take women and their division more seriously. There have been the occasional stand out match between the likes of AJ Lee and Kaitlyn for example. But the stand out battle we’re looking at today is the one from December in 2004. Lita and Trish have battled a number of times for the championship belt, and even more times without it. Heck even occasionally they have been known to team up (as they are good friends in real life), but the reason why we’re noting this match is because of where it stood on the card. This had been the first time in years, and the last time to date (as far as I’m aware) where two women main evented the WWE’s main weekly show.
